Is it worth it to hide the brain here? Where to splice?
Is it worth my time and effort to hide the brain somewhere in the rear side pannels (probably will protect it with plexiglass if I put it back there) or do I just remove the dash and find a spot there? BTW my car is currently striped except the dash. I do want to make a good install and will take my time but i was wonderingg if the extra effort is practical. Also, where do I splice into my ignition I-III/a/c heater etc.. so it's difficult to hotwire. I was thinking it must be easy for a thief to just rip the splices and reconnect the wires if it's accesible but where ISN'T it accesible? Sorry for the dumb questions. TIA
If you can hide it in the dash that will be easier for you. So long as the brain inaccessible without a lot of disassembly that's fine. The rear is a pain because you'll have to extend some wires. It's up to you, from a security standpoint the rear is best but the biggest thing is not up under the driver's side dash.
But is there really an inaccessible area in the dash? I can see far into it's areas pretty easy so I guess a slim hand can reach and yank it out. Anyone have ideas?
I am an old Circuit Shitty shop manager. Alarms a good deteurrents, but they cannot stop the real theives. I tried to stay away fro starter kill install. I tried to talk them out of it. Why, because they only screwed up the car owners. If the alarm unit was a normally closed ingition kill, then it was not so bad. If the alarm malfunctions with a normally open starter kill, then the owner could not start the car and drive over to the shop and yell at me. But to answer your questions, just install it under the dash in a hard to get to place. I cut the ignition wires at the steering column. Do you know how to spin the wires for a clean and easier install?
lolz don't you just use a drill to spin the wires together?
anyways if you want to go through all the trouble of running all the wires to the back then coo... or you can just put it under the dash where its not easily accessible/where you ahve to take off a bunch of panels to get to it.. not sure how your CRX is.. never had one.. so I can't suggest places...

Spun wires means easy to spot!
I used all black wires hid the alarm in a secret location not under the dash, and extended the wires. I also ran all the wires in the stock wiring harness, I did not make any connections at the dash. Just remember if you extend the wires you may have to use larger wire on some of the wires. Like the ignition kill for example, will need larger wires if extended.

a killer place to put the brain in your dash is behind the glove box next to the a/c unit, or since the car is stripped you said just pull the dash out (its only like 10 screws/bolts) and then do your alarm. you could also do an ignition kill or fuel kill with your starter kill relay, or use one of your outputs to trigger the kills.
