technically yes, damn near any modification to a vehicle is, but nobody knows what you have inside the engine, as long as you can pass emissions you'll be fine

They are not junk u retard, blox type a are good and u might be able to pass smog i know other people that have but it also depends on what else u have on the car. Type a's are good they r better than type r cams, if you have pretty high compresion you should go with type b's. I haven't heard any bad things about blox cams, do a quick search, there's some good dyno numbers on the all motor dyno thread.

As far as retainers and springs i havent heard bad things about omni eaither but i went with supertech springs and crower retainers. Also i didnt get the titanium cuz im daily driving my car and they dont last as long i just went with the chromoly retainers that are lighter than stock and still strong and durable.

My DC2 is also my Daily Driver. So what retainers and springs do you reccomend for a Daily Driver with a short ram Intake, Greddy EvoII catback exhaust, BLOX intake mani and throttle bodie? Oh yea Im looking into getting the type B cams.

type b's will only benifit you more than a's if you build your motor more, like higher compresion pistons, type a's will do better with your mods. I'd go with supertech.

I got the Blox B's in my weekend car, and had BC'3 in my DD. The B's like CR higher than stock, like 11:1 - 12:1. I ran BC's in my daily driver when it only had a stock GSR bottom head and a semi built head, and the low and mid range was great.

I think the op is just doing a 'building block' type of build. OP, what are your intentions with your motor?

I was thinking of doing that however I was planning to get the valve train replaced, Cams (tuned), and cam gears before I got the pistons and rods. But bro its gonna make a BIG AZZ whole in my wallet, I'm looking at what? a good $1500 (including labor) if not more...

yeah, do the head first, im doing kinda the same, just wait and look for good deals on here, some on ebay i guess, there's always people that want a different project etc.. and sell stuff for cheaper, i got a hell of a deal on springs reatiners and cams, but im also gona get a gsr bottom with pr3 pistons, but thats more of a project.
