Default function/form type 1

acquired a set of type 1's however the rears do not lower my car as much as i would like. I have adjusted the lower portion of the shock as far up as it goes and theres still 2 inches left. i dont want to lower the spring perch so i came up w/ an idea to have the lower portion threaded all the way through. anyone know a shop in socal that can do that?

What prevents from threading through? Lack of threads or the mount shape itself?

Does the top mount have a bearing or bushing?

I have a different application but with my type2 that has a bearing on the top mount, I changed the bearing sleeves allowing the top mount to drop half an inch. That got most of my shock travel back after having to use the spring perch to get my desired height.

I just found a pic of the lower mount and to me it looks like the the fork part screws into the tube part. You would have to machine off the end of the fork part and enlarge the hole, so the shock can pass through. Then you have to weld it back onto the tube since you removed how it assembles together.

It would be alot easier to just drill a new mounting hole so it sits lower on lca. It is hard to tell from a pic but it looks like you can get 3/4 to 1 inch and still be on the machined flat section. If you cut the flat pad secton more you can move the bolt more. With how long the the mount looks you can get quite a bit. If you do move it a lot, the lca may need be clearanced as well.

I actually got 3/4 of inch on my integra by doing this way on a airstrut. The fork part was much shorter and it goes alot lower so I had to grind a little of the lca.
