Auto X
Do any of you guys Auto X regularly? I recently starte to get into it and I'm wanting to know what setups everyone is running...
I'm currently running stock, so I'm running in GS class I would like to stay in that class. But I want to see what everyone is running with our car models to maximize times. Any help would be appreciated.
Mike if you need to move it, go ahead and do it. I figured I would ask here first since in the Auto X section I would get reponses for alot of diff cars.

As far as I know, no. You can run "race" rubber as long as its DOT approved (meaning approved for street use). I know many who use Toyo RA-1's.
In the stock class, you can change the front sway bar, tires, wheels but they must be within .5" of stock width (I believe), and your shocks. Everything else must be stock, inside and out.

Rotors and pads can also be changed, as long as the rotors as the same size as stock.

as well as the .5 within width, diameter must be the same as the largest option from the factory. ie if your car came with 14s, but 15 was an option for that trim level, you can run an aftermarket 15 (someone correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure thats correct)

I am pretty sure they are not allowed. I don't feel like reading the rules now...lol.

No, they are not allowed. You can find race rubber that is dot approved though. That will be your best choice/stickest rubber.

I wondered the same thing myself and have yet to figure out a definitive answer. I would email the SCCA and find out.

I'm autocrossing my 06 Si and all I've done is new rubber 225/45/17 Bridgestone RE0R1s. I use them all summer long and they have a 140 treadwear rating. My understanding is that HFP parts are not allowed since they are not installed at the factory but the dealership once the car get there.

I've been autocrossing my '07 Si since July '07 but I have to run in STX because of the mods. I added the HFP suspension, 23mm Progress rear sway bar, Skunk2 rear camber adjusters (to take out the negative camber), SS brake lines, and light wheels with Falken Azenis.
In my case, the car will perform much better than the driver but I managed to finish 3rd in class last year and am currently in 3rd this year. I think if I had it to do over, I'd run stock (but modding the car is half the fun!)
