Zeal B6 vs GC/Koni
I just started going to auto-x with my '94 GSR last year for about 4-5 events. It's my daily-driver, and I'm gonna try to make it to 12-15 events this year.
This is my current setup:
ITR rear sway
ASR subframe brace
ES poly bushings
Hawk HPS pads/Brembo rotors
205/50/15 Kumho MX's
I have the chance to buy either a used set of Zeal B6 coilovers, or a used Koni Yellow/GC combination. Both are about the same price. I know the popular choice is the Koni/GC setup. I did a search and couldn't come up with as much on the Zeal B6's, but I know they are a lot pricier new.
Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-Dustin

I believe the stock Zeal B6 rates are like 10 k / 6 k. I already have a set of GC's but the springs I have are pretty soft (something like 6/5), so I'm looking for another set closer to the Zeal rates.

+1 on the Koni setup.
IMO, the only thing better than revalved Koni sports are Koni 3011s, unless you're willing to pay for Koni 2812s, Motons, Penske's, et al.

I have the GC's already with those softer springs, but not the Koni's. My cost to get stiffer springs and a set of Koni's is marginally less than the Zeal's.
My preference is to stick with the Koni's as well since they are proven, but since I'm getting such a good price on the Zeal's, I thought I'd see if anyone had opinions on them.

I've seen the dyno plots from some Zeal B6's. Basically, if someone gave me the dampers to run on my car, I'd throw them in the trash and buy something good.
Koni/gc. The adjuster on the shock actually does something, what it does is predictable, and the damper curve actually starts out in a workable range.
