Default Tranny noise

Ok ive had this problem for a while. ive grown accustom to it but if i can fix it that would be great. When i am downshifting from high rpms into a lower gear my tranny makes a howling noise. When im goin along steady in 1rst and left of the gas quick it makes the noise to and it is realy jerky, Any ideas of what it could be? I imagine its a bad bearing right??

My bet is that its the ISB. Input Shaft Bearing. Does it do it while accelerating? Does it go away when you press in the clutch? If you answered yes to these questions then its your ISB. Its a bitch to change. Need to tear apart the tranny and ****. Best bet buy another tranny or drive it with that anoying winding sound. That's what I do. Till I do my swap.

Well that's really a debate. Some people would say the longer gears would be better for boost but, then again I like the short gears of a ex/si tranny. So on my opinion I would drop in a ex/si tranny. Atleast that's what I have on my setup. Turbo also.

Yea my thought was that if the turbo was spooling at 3800 rpms that i might get longer boost durations with the cx tranny ut i still think the ex would be quicker.

Well, also take in consideration that it also depends what size turbo you going to run. Smaller turbo's spool faster, therefore you'll probably reach max psi fast enough. On the other hand a bigger turbo will need more time due to that it takes longer to spool. Get the picture? so id say swap a ex/si tranny with a t04 turbo and your good to go. Cuz remember you got one of the longest trannies. I had a lx once too. And it sucked *****.
