Default Trading My 98 Hatch for Integra

I could use your opinions and help on this one. I have a 1998 hatch, has a d1.6y7 *slow as crap*, motor is all stock- even has stock muffler and everything. It was repainted Phoenix Yellow, has ctr rear lip-spoiler- and ibuilt brackets. Tein Basic Coilovers and thats about all that is done to the car. heres a pic.

My friend just got his car out of the shop today. The year just slipped my mind- but im told it has a 00 front end? or bumper? Im very new to integras so not sure on most of this stuff. All interior is black- the exterior color is the only thing thats bugging me, its...well...its purple. The motor is a b16a2 full swap with tranny as well i believe and was equipped with a jackson racing supercharger but has been removed. The motor has been giving a "tune up" a lot of new stuff put on, valve lash and some other things. Suspension is Omni coilovers
heres a pic of that car.

Those rim are no longer on the car.

I searched on b16s in tegs and know they aren't "fast" and are a lot slower than a gsr- but thats not so bad, hell im sure my hatch runs in the 17s anyways. Owner of the teg *my friend* said he'd be fine with a strait up trade. Pretty good deal right?

btw the teg does not have a dent- i showed the pic to a friend and he asked about that area under the door handle- its a reflection off something in the background. body is strait- its just the paint thats really buggin me.

In my opinion your hatch is way cleaner. I would keep ur hatch and swap the motor.

Judging from the pictures and your dislike of the integra's color....I'd keep the hatch if I were you.

the guy who painted my car gave me a hell of a deal on spraying the teg another color, under $500. ive always wanted a dc- my first car was a shell of one- and i never got it going. this thing drives better than my hatch, i think one of the shocks is blown, and some other stuff that needs fixing- and lately its been eating like 10 bucks of gas in 2 or 3 days.

I know the hatch seems like the reasonable choice. but the teg isn't that bad right?

Spraying it? Is he going to at least strip off all that paint first? If so....ok. Since there was a tune up done and a few goodies put in I guess it can't be too bad. Up to you though.

Keep your hatch buddy. This is what i think... the body work and paint on the Integra looks like crap. If you cant see it .... look at the door and the rear quarter panel. You are better off selling your hatch and buy a bone stock intergra with a clean body and the color you want or keep your hatch and drop a motor and call it a day.

Personally, I would keep the hatch since it is in good shape and completely stock. You can have a fresh start and work your way up from there, one modification at a time. I'd rather work for the parts I purchase then to trade with someone else's project.

You already know what has been done to your car, inside and out. Your friend's Integra, on the other hand, has a downgraded motor for the chassis, rusted paint on the driver's side, and was supercharged before in his ownership. Who knows what else has been done to the car.

Honestly, I'd stay away from that deal even if it was in the hands of a friend.

Can you please stop posting that absurd picture?

You'd be surprised. They ( sh*tty painters ) are out there. I brought my 98 rear bumper to a painter through recommendation. The paint looked awesome....until.....a slight accident showed that the ****** sprayed over the original bumper.
