2000 Civic SiR, GSR block, ITR tranny, OBD1 GSR ECU, MSD coil. After the engine warms up a little the car bogs down between 2-3k. No check lights. I recently put in a new TPS and got it aligned. Car didn't do it till a couple days after. The car runs fin when the engine is cold. The coil is at least 5 years old. Think the coil could be going out? But why would it do it after the car warms up? My car doesn't have an electronic load detector (ELD)which I hear works together with the IACV after the car warms up. My ECU is a JDM GSR ecu which has an ELD. Could that be part of it? Any help would be great. Also I heard the alternator going out can cause a car to bog in weird places. Thanks in advance.
Check to see if your throwing a code. I have thrown codes before and not light up the light on the dash. If it is intermitant problem it might not flash until you jump the code checker.
had a old accord that was doing that before (internal coil), try using a stock coil (make sure you get the contact spring also). Car would drive perfectly till it warmed up, then it would just die for anywhere from 2-15min at a time. No codes, nothing, just dead. Then it got worse and it was pretty much undrivable. If the (oem or equivalent) coil doesn't fix it, then probably the ignitor is going bad. At that point, I'd get a reman dizzy and call it a day. hth.
