Assuming it fell through the drain holes in the head, it would fall directly down into the pan. It would likely get sucked into the pickup, but there's a screen there protecting against large debris getting sucked into your oil pump.

How big a piece are we talking here?

probably half the size of a dime, im not sure, but i applied hondabond around the valve cover gasket, alot of it oozed out. I also applied hondabond on the bolt grommets, and accidentally torqued them down before it dried. So im affraid some dripped down onto the valve train.

Hondabond is still rubbery, but im affraid of it clogging.

and i know if I rip the VC off its going to be a mess.

If any of it did get into the oil, it will find its way into the pan and eventually on the screen of the pick up. Every honda oil pan i've done i always find a few small pieces on the screen. I wouldnt worry too much.

You're grossly overusing the Hondabond. You're only supposed to put it on 4 little spots on the VC. Straight from my helms:

FYI, I've been swapping/reusing the same VC gasket on many different cylinder heads for the past 5 years and I've never had any leaks. I never use any Hondabond/Permatex either. Don't apply any to the bolt grommets either, and especially don't tighten the bolts down after the bond has dried.

Your VC should have zero leaks because it should have zero pressure inside. If you're having problems with leaks, look into PCV problems because you're probably pressurizing your crankcase.

agreed, so next time I remove the VC, I will clean off all the hondabond, but in the mean time how easy is it to clog the oil pickup? Im just worried about oiling problems in the y8.
