input shaft bearing problem ???
it is in an l3 trans when the car starts out in the first three gears its kind of like a grinding / growling sound and once i get into 4 and 5th it goes away but can still be heard faintly but nothing like in the lower gears. Is this the input shaft bearing or another bearing in the trans. It doesnt make noise while sitting still with clutch out but sometimes with clutch in which makes me think it may be the throw out bearing but that wouldnt make noise when the clutch is out. So please help and also does any one on HT sell a bearing and seal kit for the L3 si trans? (mista bone?)
i've got the same problem with my car...and yeah, i think its the input shaft bearing...its been making the sound for quite some time but its really starting to get more noticeable lately...kind of a growling/howling sound in all gears, especially prevelant in 1st thru 3rd @ low/mid rpm's...i actually am starting to notice a bit of "drag" car doesnt accelerate quite as fast as it did a short while back
