Default H23 dilemma.

I bought my 4th gen prelude in the fall of 2006. Before I bought it the entire top end was totally replaced after the timing belt broke. the motor has 98,400 miles on it and the top end only has about 15,000 to 20,000 on it. So my dilemma is if i should get an H22 head for it, or see if I can add anything to my head to make it more like the H22, minus the Vtec. I was thinking Cams for it, but I didn't know if H22 cams were different then the H23 cams, or anything like that, I currently have an AEM cai on it, as well as a DC sports header, and pace setter exhaust.

I dont think many people stagger in here knowing they need goals. I think they just know they want to go fast

That is true. My goals are atleast 200 whp. if not 225, without having to get to crazy with stuff.

200whp n/a on an h23 is a lot. 200whp on an h22 is a lot of money spent on quality parts.

Crower makes cams for the h23. Yes, h22 and h23 cams are different

Cams/springs/retainers would be the next easiest thing to try at this point. You could try experimenting with some intake manifolds too. A couple links:

Pirate got 200whp with a H23 head and a DC header:

Plate to use H22 intake manifolds on H23 head:

You cant put h22 cams into a h23 head, if thats what your asking.

There is an extra lobe on all vtec cams.
