wierd vacuum problem
i have a 94 gsr in a civic hb.. there seems to be no suction in the manifold.. we test it out by taking off the manifold and trying to start the car.. the car wouldn't start.. one main reason is that there is no vacuum at all.. wat could be the cause of the car not starting and the having no vacuum at all? or could this be a more seriuos issue?
First off, if the car won't start, the intake isn't gonna pull any air into the engine to create a vaccum in the first place
Secondly IDK anyone that would try to start a car without the manifold on
With that said... double check your wiring and make sure everything is connected properly. Get us some history on the motor if you can. Did it come from a running car? Might be a bad dizzy? Could be alot of things....

nah.. we didn't try to start it with the manifold on.. it is a running gsr.. it was running but one day it just wont start.. we turbocharged it as well.. but wen it was all motor the car was revving very low already to begin with.. we tested the coil and the module out and they were still good and we checked all the wires plugs and they were still good too... the starter is good and so is the alternator.. the thing is.. the car is supposed to have some sort of vacuum while we turn the key and try to start up the car.. but the boost gauge isn't reading it.. we also used the boost gauge to see if the intake manifold was creating anything and it wasn't.. we tried the same test on my friends car and it was showing vacuum(the meter was going back towards the vacuum part of the boost gauge).. so if anyone has any idea on to check why the car isn't starting it would be Helpful..
is the intake manifold rusted or in real bad shape? how old and how many miles?
did you try to disconnect the intake in a clean environment with the manifold on to see if it starts? i would also temporarily disconnect the pcv valve too
is your throttle body stuck or really rusted?

the manifold is fairly new.. i bought it last summer.. its a skunk2 manifold.. we thought it was leaking through the manifold gasket so we took it off and inspect the manifold itself and bought a new gasket for it.. it still wouldn't start..
the odd thing is that we have both spark and fuel cause i can smell fuel on the plugs and we tested the wires and the plugs for spark which turned out good..
The Only thing is that there is no suction from the manifold at all.. its as the engine isn't sucking anymore.. we also did a compression test that turned out good as well and the timing was checked also..
I know vacuum has a lot to do with the car turning over.. Vacuum is wat i don't have as of right now.. any help would be appreciated thanks
