Default Re: reverse light (jea_hood2k8)

the reverse light sensor is right on the top of your trans, under the distributor covered by a black boot, the five speed transmission will normally know when your in reverse but since the car was originally auto, it doesnt. When you pulled out the automatic shifter, there was a white plasic piece bolted to the side of the shifter with a whole crap load of wires going to it. if you look imagine you shifting the auto and see what wires would be touching the shifter when in reverse, those to wires just simply need to be wired to the sensor on the top of the tranny, its really hard to explain in words because i cant remember the wire colors, it doesnt matter which wire goes to which because all it relys on is contact, hope this helps, if not just PM me, just recently did a conversion
