ats 4.9 ITR tranny makes weird noise today..hrmm..
Didn't want to double post but i posted this in all motor forum as well, i didn't mean too i forgot about this section -_-
So today i was driving home from work.. got on it alittle bit 1st,2nd,3rd.. and went to coast down.. i went to down shift into 2nd and it wouldn't go, this was around 55ish~ mph.. it just made a hissing noise.. no wirling noise, or grinding.. this is a 4 month old tranny, never missed shifted it yet, and well its been like butter.. and i've beat on it a ton of times in the past month or so..
Well here's something i did, on the way home i did the same thing.. except this time when coasting i didn't try to press the clutch in and just slowly pull it back into 2nd gear, it didn't go into 2nd of course, but it didn't make the noise neither..
I got home called a buddy who does alot of work with tranny's and explainned my story..
He sound it could be the throw out bearing slowly going out or something of that nature, or the tranny just breaking in?? I've never heard of that..before.. and the tranny, when i put it in around 2 months ago, was filled with acura manuel tranny fluid.. now when it cools down i'ma go outside and check the level but i highly doubt that has anything to do with this noise..
to put it into perspective.. it sounds like a big leaf scraping the ground.. it doesn't grind neither and goes into gear at anything under 40mph..I've repeatly beat this car to 9k+ almost daily with no problems.. I checked all the mounts on the housing as well everythings tight as ****, i even went back with my impact for *****..
Any ideas?
Also.. It goes into 3rd/4th/5th no problem still making the hissing noise tho but it gets lower the higher the gear.. When putting the tranny in i made sure the spindles were all lined up it just went in smooth so i know it wasn't a installation error, as far as this tranny is concerned.. this was done by someone in north carolina i bought it from a guy local and needless to say this tranny hasn't made a single problem noise until not and its not even a problem. I can go outside and do it and it wont do it until its warmed up neither..

Slave cylinder? Check the line that mounts along the frame to the slave cylinder, maybe check your fluid level as well........ dunno just throwing things out here.......
Ok, yesterday i checked the fluid level it was low by not by much, i filled it back up.
This morning i drove it normal and no sound.. as soon as i got above 60ish and tried to downshift into 2nd it made the noise.. it also felt like it was slowing down the car..
Well i got to a light took off in 1st like normal and then got on it, tried to do a really hard shift into 2nd and it wouldn't go into 2nd... i reved the car up to only 9 grand this time and it wouldn't go in until around 7 grand after i left it drop..
It also felt as if there was a pull on the clutch pedel.. now i did notice my clutch fluid low last week but didn't think anything because i filled it back up, possible air in the line causing the slave cyl not to push it out enough??
