96 hatch guage light flickering

My 1996 civic hatch gauge light flickering while driving. It's the light on the cluster to let you know the hatch is open. Just started and it does it off and on. The hatch is closed.

You may have a faulty trunk latch switch or a short somewhere in the wire running between the switch and gauge assembly. Inspect the switch first.

It could be that the bulb is making a bad connection in the plug. I had one do this.
