Default Brake Master Cylinder or Brake booster?

Hey guys,

The lude's been sitting around all winter and it's time to bring her out of hibernation... but she's not ready. I noticed that I have brake fluid leaking but I'm not sure exactly what the part is called or what I need to get to replace it...I'm thinking that I'm going to replace the master cylinder either way, can you tell by the pictures what is leaking?

This is a shot from the underneath the car, you can see where the fluid is leaking from.

This is a shot from up top-nothing looks wet, but the black round part that the master cylinder connects to (the brake booster?) is what is leaking from beneath the car.

Clearly my inexperience shows, does anyone know what part needs to be replaced besides the master cylinder?

TIA!

Check your connections and hoses. If you're replacing the master cylinder anyway, I would start with that. More than likely that is causing it.

looks like master cylinder. There shouldnt be any fluid in the brake booster.

The brake booster does not contain fluid, only vacuum. It is the master cylinder. Make sure you bench bleed it before installing it otherwise you will have a hard time trying to get all the air out of the lines.

Thanks guys, all sound advise. One quick question though, how do I bench bleed it?

My buddy agreed with the master cylinder due to the fact that the power brake booster contains no fluid. I'll replace the master cylinder and be sure to post up here if that wasn't the problem.

Thanks again!
