Default Oil Change

My mom wants me to change the oil on here 1993 Accord 10th anniversary.
I have not yet looked at it, but will I have to jack it up to get to the drain plug or filter? Will the car have to be level?
Thanks,
Jeff

I guess you dont have to. But you would need to be really really skinny and have really really long hands. Just get some ramps from AutoZone for $30 and drive it up them. The car does not need to be perfectly level.

or you can just drive the left front tire up on a curb. That is the white trash way of doing it.

I noticed that two when someone posted the history of the Accord. Honestly, I don't know. It has a nifty "10th Anniversary Edition" badge on it though
Thanks guys,
Jeff

Oh, I forgot to ask. What about jacking points? Where can I jack it up with my 2.5 ton jack and where can I put the jack stands?

There is a little hook loppy thingy just aft of the radiator under the car. Jack that up, then there are two ribs under the car right under where the mirrors are, you cant miss them, put the jackstands there.

It's the 10th anniversary of them being built in the USA.

that is the fastest way to jack the car up on that front hook..

I just did my front brakes today

I have to do the rear ones soon but those drums are a P.I.T.A to get off

Ah crap. Each car I do an oil change on, it gets harder. I put my jack on that rail, about 2 inches behind the hook. The wheels didn't even get off the ground and it bent. Crap. Do I put the jack "cup" right on the hook?
We ended up using two jacks, one on each of the "scissor" jack points, with jackstands below in case the jacks broke.

For the front, you're supposed to jack up the car from front the center crossmember (bar that runs fore-aft under the motor). At the front of this crossmember are some metal extrusions that serve as your jack point. This way you can lift the entire front end evenly.

I've never even thought of that, but it is a good idea in a pinch. Whitre trash or not, it's a hell of a lot better than getting under acar not on jackstands
