the cv joint was destroyed.when i went to pull it out, the inner boot tore in half.this was only the start!!the part of the joint that goes into the tranny was stuck,i mean stuck i tried and tried to beat the thing out.i pried on it for hours and still nothing. can anyone give any advise on how to remove the joint from the tranny? p.s.:for you do it yourselfers. if you have doubts dont try it!!

i dont want to damage the rubber seal around the part of the joint thats stuck in the tranny. im thinking of trying to use to long pry bars and pry from the top of the engine compartment.
Use a pry bar and don't worry about the seal, it is probably a good idea to replace the seal anyway (only about $30). You might try prying at one point, then rotating the transmission a little, pry some more, rotate some more, so that you're working it back and forth to loosen it up. Only thing holding it in is a small ring in a groove on the end of the axle, unless it is somehow corroded in there.
