knocking sound when i accelerate and brake

Default knocking sound when i accelerate and brake

ok i looked for a few min before i hade to go to work today but ive been having this problem for a few days now its not the battery hold down i checked that first but now i cant figure out what it is but when i accelerate and press on the brakes i hear a knocking sound coming from the fron of the car in the general area of the wheels i dont think its the cv's cuz they are less than 10k miles old. any help is greatly appreciated

is it ONLY when you accelerate and ONLY when you brake? and is it a constant sound or is it just one knock? try to be a little more specific...

i thought that it was just when i accelerate and brake but it becoming more prominate and now it happening when i turn too and its constant but kinda loud when i step on the gas but sounds softer almost like u cant hear it unless ur listening for it and it get louder when i step on the brakes but im starting to think its the cv joints im just not sure

same happened to me yesterday,then i got the cv boots replaced coz both of them were ripped,then the knocking went away,
but its best to change the axles..

it could be one of your mounts also. check all your mounts and make sure its secure.

come to find out when i took my car in to get new tires the guy that put them back on didnt tighten the lugs down all the way i lost a lug and the rest were still loose when i put the car up on the lift to do the cv so i cranked them down and then went back out and problem fixed

yeah i drove about 250 miles before i went to the shop to do the work from the time i got the tires changed i was really lucky
