Default have an 03 civic si and putting in 07 civic si engine and tranny

like the title states my buddy has an 03 si hatch and has just picked up an 07 civic si engine tranny ecu, and i belive the key as well. the only thing im worried about is the whole drive by wire thing... is it as simple as swapping his TB's around? and what about the ECU can we use the 07 or are we gunna have to get his 03 ECU k-pro'd to work with the motor..... any info would be apreciated.

To eliminate the drive by wire you will have to get a prb ecu with Kpro, prb harness, k20a2 TB, k20a2 primary O2 sensor. Then the vss on the transmission will not work. So you will have to modify the tranny or live without a speedometer.....Im sure there's more. Someone else please verify this.

You/your buddy bought this motor/tranny before you knew the details of the swap?

Looks that way. But you live and you learn. Best way to do it if you ask me.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mattcivic &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ya we assumed it would need some work to make it work but nothing we cant do.</TD></TR></TABLE>

It can be done just if you would have gotten a k20a2 it would be MUCH easier and cheaper.
