Exhaust hangers, what do you use?
What do you guys prefer for exhaust hangers?
I use a few different styles, and honestly I am not too impressed with any of them. I'll post pics when I am back at the shop on monday.

as in metal hangers or rubber hangers ?
i like to use 3/8 rod, and bend it into whateve shape i need via BFH & vice. as for rubber hangers, oem honda style rubbers(the smaller ones, not the big bulky ones)

Thats exactly what I did, add a little heat to bend them a bit easier.

I use 304l 3/8" stainless rod on nearly all the exhausts I build. I made a bender that has mild steel shoes and bends on a 1" radius. It leaves no marks so it looks very neat and clean. It has a 3' handle so bending cold is no problem at all.
For the rubber part I use those small poly ones hot rod places always sell. They are pretty stiff and they are glossy black so they look nice. I question the strength because of the way poly tears much more easily than rubber...but Iv never had one wear out either.

i just buy the $.12 ones at the local exhaust shop that are prebent in i think 1/2 or maybe thicker.
and i have only used the stock hangers or maybe oe style drop hangers for clearence.
i would prefer to make a real nice custom exhaust but noone around here would pay or a $600+ custom exhaust.

Agreed. Cheap exhausts are hardly worth it.
That said, I have done my fair share of aluminized $6-700 ones in the past.
I found it takes a while to get the good work in a small city like mine.
I use 3/8 rod and bend it around the tube for best surface contact and strength. BFH works great with a vise. Snipe is better when it can be used.
