my 96 civic. I rerouted the hood cable, but i guess i did it incorrectly. when i pull on the latch, the hood won't pop open. It's a very hard pull, and i pulled a good 2 inches on the cable latch. I think i pulled it as hard as i can without breaking the latch (as alot of us do) I tried using a pair of pliers to pull the cable near the latch(right behind the front grille), but it still wont pop open. any suggestions?

take the latch off, there are 3 10mm bolts to remove. use the search engine, it helps.
