where's the mugen number plate?
Everywhere I read about the mugen I see references to a number plate on the center console. I bought one and haven't seen it yet. The dealer said mine's 366 since that was the number on my key tag. I say B.S. Prove me wrong. Anyone else have rusting lugnuts after 1000 miles?
yeah my lug nuts are rusty too because after i wash the wheels theres still water there that doesnt dry up but i'm planning on getting the mugen heptagon lug nuts those are way better
I checked my vin and still can't tell. I was under the imprssion Honda only made 1000. Any combo I come up with equals way more than that.
08 Mugen Si
08 Fit sport
99 SI
99 CRV
95 DX hatch
93 EX
08 Mugen Si
08 Fit sport
99 SI
99 CRV
95 DX hatch
93 EX
Last 3 numbers in VIN is Mugen identification number
000 is either the very first (before 001) or the last (000 = 1,000)
The theory I've come up with. I'm sticking to it.
There are only 1000 possible numbers with 3 digits. You try to use the 4th digit, and the amount of possible numbers becomes 10,000. This is only my theory, but it makes sense.

Guys there is no way to tell which Mugen you have. There are threads stating this before. My Mugen last digits on the VIN is 31 but it doesnt mean its 31. When Mugen interviewed me a couple of weeks ago I asked them about the VIN number b/c I kept on hearing different things. They told me the VIN doesnt have anything to do with what Mugen you have out of 1000.
Everyone get rusted lug nuts if you don't wash the wheel often enough. but I'm pretty sure you can just take them off and wire brush the rust off.
Thanks for the info. on the vin. I 've been asked numerous times which one I have and now will be able to give a more educated answer than "I don't know". As far as the lug nuts I more specificly wanted to know if anyone had them warrantied, and if so did Honda hassle you or turn over a new set? Mine were rusted after three days of ownership. The rust bleeds onto the wheels. They are not the same as factory lugnuts. I wash the car every two or three days. I'm not wire brushing anything on a brand new car I've owned for a month. I know rusty lug nuts is a dumb post, but I'm P.O. and dissapointed I spent thirty grand to have the center of my wheels look like crap. My 08 Fit Sport with 6000 miles isn't rusted, 99 Si with 115,000 isn't rusted. 99 CRV with 118,000 barely had more than the Mugen does at 1400. I'm going to the dealer to demand new ones. I just wanted to arm myself with any info you had for me before I go.

Is that what causes those rust drips? Those arent really Mugen Lug nuts there just different lugnuts no special key or anything required to remove them. If you want the real deal your going to have to order a new set thats what I'm planning to do.

The reason none of your other cars have rusty lugnuts, is because they are the factory wheels that were torqued with a torque wrench. I guarantee you the reason they are rusty is because a tech tightened the Mugen wheels with an air gun, or another improper technique. The lug nuts on my '94 Accord were never rusted until about 2004 when I had some brake work done. I got the car back and almost every lugnut was rusted. I noticed some of them had the corners rounded a little bit. I checked the torque and they were way too tight, and not one wheel was consistently tightened to itself. I had to redo every one of them.
