hi everyone i have a 1990 civic si with 190,000 kms ..now heres the big problem when i turn on my car it idles fine ..if i press the brake pedal the cars dies out f i turn the left blinker on the right one goes and sometimes at the same time ..im fuel gauge reads empty when full...no brake lights... turn signals are whacked out ive ripped apart everything looking for grounds .. ive canged the turn signal relay and hazard switch ... doesss anyone know of this problem i here something about an ICU < thats not the signal relay is it ?? ur help would be greatly appreciated thanks

 

For the problem with your brake lights, check whether fuse 35 (20A) in the main fuse box is blown.

For the turn signal problem, you may have a bad turn signal switch.

ive done all that theres nothing wrong with fuel system .. theres something that controls ive changed the icu the blinker relay all the relays have been changed

 

sounds like your issues are ground related,i would say start with your brake light circuit since when ever you hit the brakes the engine dies.your gonna need a test light and start making sure power is wher its supposed to be


and take your bulbs out and inspect closely,in rare cases the part that lights up makes contact with somthing grounded on another circuit, rare but happens from time to time
