Default paint necessary after removing sound deadening tar?

I'm almost done chipping away at the tar even with dry ice it was a bit of a pain. There's some areas where the paint is scratched off, just wondering if I can get away with not respraying the floor since the carpet is going back in or will it rust?

Thanks
