Default cahrcoal canister questions

i removed my charcoal canister but i dont know what to do with the open fuel vent line.....would it be possible for me to just connect the open line to my purge vlve on the back opf my intake manifold and it would still work........cause right now i have it capped and my sending unit dosent read right and when i go to get gas it vent really bad out the filler neck..

Why would you take out the charcoal canister? It does nothing to your horsepower, and it weights like one pound. You shoulda just left it there. You just totally goofed up your EVAP system and if it hasn't thrown a CEL already, it probably will once it gets hot outside this spring.

cars obd1 so it wont thtow a code... and i took it out cause im shaveing my engine bay so no need for the clutter

gotcha. oh well, i would have thought that it would throw a code. damn, im too used to working with obd2 cars haha. sorry i couldnt help ya.

Well now you don't have any place to store the fuel vapors from residual pressure after you shut the car down. You just lost about 4 mpg, and you'll probably set your car on fire. But your engine bay is going to look like a 50's hot rod! Yay!

what you want to do is take the line and remove it from the engine bay....follow it back toward the gas tank and lead a piece of hose out of the tank back pass the control arms...that what i did on a lot of cars... doesn't smell like gas...haven't seen a change in gas mileage either...and no annoying hose in the engine bay... if you want to look for a example what i mean, look for the shaved bay thread. they have it on the first page
