Default prelude seats in ej1

ok so i have searched this topic all last night and some this morning on a mobile browser. i give up.

will the prelude (92-96) seats fit in a eg/ej civic with NO MODIFICATION?

and conversely, will the civic ej1 seats fit in her prelude with NO MODIFICATION?

ive got a set, but im gonna have to swap my stock seats back into her prelude. im hoping itll be painless direct swap. if its not, and ill have to drill some holes or whatever, id like a brief rundown of what to be prepared for. im driving six hours to swap seats with my sister before insurance totals out her lude. only have one day off.

thanks in advance.

best i can see is rail swapping... that would be ok... but i wanna know its gonna be a "removed 6 bolts, reattatch" diy not a "tap a new hole in the floorpan here" diy

Definitely not going to fit without modification.

You might get away with swapping rails

Prelude Seat Rails

Civic Seat Rails

hmmm didnt think to visually compare the exploded diagrams....

it looks good.. kinda.... it seems the brackets that bolt to the side of the seat bolt to the rails in totally different fashions.

god i hope i can find a how to...

A buddy has 4th gen Prelude seats in his '93 coupe. He used the Prelude rails and I believe 3 of the bolt holes lined up and he drilled a hole in the floor pan for the 4th bolt.

they dont fit but they come close. i got 4th gen seats in my ek. the left front i used the same hole as wel for the right rear hole. for the other 2 i just took some flat steel mad tabs an welded them to the rail an drill hole. it only took about 2 hours to do both seats the right way. o an i shot a little black sray paint on the ends i welded on, looks good and the fit fine

Here's a pretty nice writeup for the seats into a 96-00 Civic, so I am sure the process is very similar since the EG and EK seat pans are similar as well.
