autometer guage questions

ok i bought a few gauges from a local person used for my turbo civic but my friend told me not to use the mechanical oil pressure guage on the pillar. what is the reason behind this? also for boost guage which is better the electric or mechanical?

ok so no one has a thought about these guages. as much **** talkin that goes on around this forum and no one can answer a few questions.
As for the oil pressure gauge; the reason your friend would say to not use the mechanical one is because it involves running an oil line containing HOT oil into the cabin. For the other question I have no info.

IMO is doesn't matter on the type of boost gauge. I have the mechanical Defi boost (Defi D gauge) and love it. I've also had the electronic boost gauge from Defi (Blue racer) and loved it.
I want to warn you about the autometer boost gauge. I had one and it was off by more than 4psi.
