Do yellow foglights help you see better? I have always liked what they look like when I am looking at a car from the outside. But, do they provide better/worse vision? Or is it more of a color preference thing?

I have the OEM dealer installed foglights. So, if you bought an OEM kit, here is what it would look like:

Yellow is lower in the visible spectrum so it doesn't refract light as much as a bluer light. With inclement weather this means that the low fog lights won't refract and throw up glare like white or blue light would. If you have fog one time, throw up your highbeams to see how much rain or fog can reduce your vision when it is refracted in your light's beams.

Yeah I know about that. I live on the side of a mountain, so I have fog every night and morning. Hahah.

I didn't ask my question the right way. I guess what I am asking is; does the yellow tint aid visibility in the same way a quality yellow bulb does? If you still have a quality white bulb in the housing, but you put a yellow lense in front of it, is it (essentially) the equivalent of having a quality yellow bulb?

I'm not sure. Some people have complained that the high bulb temps have burned the lamin-x off their lights, and most yellow bulbs are cheap quality and burn out rather quickly, unless you spend a lot of money. They both do the same thing; filter everything but yellow light out, so I don't think there would be any difference in light output if all things were equal.

Yea...If I did it, I'd only go yellow on the fogs anyway. I like my headlights white.

As far as I know, in South Carolina the only colors you cannot have up front are red and blue. What code was the ticket under?

I couldn't any mention of yellow head lamps here:

What the hell ticket could he give you that would be $700? I've gotten a 5 point (worst in NJ) ticket and it was still ONLY $289 or something. I think that a$$hole cop was making **** up. Definitely a better idea not to risk it though...lol.

im not sure. he said your not allowed to alter your headlight lense in anyway unless its approved by DOT. since lamin-x is an offroad/racing only kind of product, i just took his word for bond. wouldnt want to get pulled over for my lenses after i was warned.

Yeah...I don't doubt that there is a real ticket for it, but I can almost guarantee you the $700 ticket part was . I've never heard a police officer refer to a ticket by its monetary penalty, rather than the actual infraction, and I've had plenty of run-ins with the law. I've asked cops on numerous occasions how much a ticket would cost. They never knew and told me to look at the back. He was just trying to scare you. It's probably a cheap fix-it ticket, but better to not risk it. At the very least, he'd probably harass you because he had already warned you.

I have some cheapo yellow ebay fog lights and they work fine for me. They make the ground a little more visible at night.

Any problems with the Fog lamps? Did you use the dash mount or get the true mount from Honda with headlights?
