Default HOW CAN YOU TELL????

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OBD-0 AND OBD-1 AND 2
for example if a car was bought and the motor is OBD-2 and the ECU is OBD-1 if i wasnt already told how would i figure that out>?

mostly by production year. i think OBD 1 started in 89 or 90 and ran thru 95. before, in most cases should be OBD 0, after should be OBD 2. hopefully someone will correct me if i'm off by a year or so on the OBD 0-OBD 1 changeover.

96-98-obd2a
99+ obd2b

for the most part.

exactly...also pre 92 is obd0
