hey all

i know most here will be annoyed when they see this post but i need opinions -

ive just taken off my AEM V2 from my eg6 an replaced it with a spoon panel filter an oem airbox.

i cant deceide which feels better though -

all im after is your opinion - would you rather the spoon or AEM?

 

t3/t4
nothing else will give you the power
save your money... well to late for that

i dont want to go turbo

i have my own house etc at 22 so i wouldnt really be able to afford to maintain one anyway

how about dyno both to see which has more gains

 

just give me the spoon one and keep the aem

 

well my cars booked in for dyno tommorrow - the dyno bloke is also setting up my timing for best bhp so im REALLY hoping he will let me have a few runs and change air filter too.

i would say spoon if your trying to keep it liking oem.

you gotta work hard to have what you want

and just so you know you can build a reliable turbo kit for around $1500 with tuning. less if you take your time and shop around
my kit will be in the 1200-1300 range and will tune to 220-230whp 180-190trq

in all honesty i have been debating boost for ages - (will just buy it bit at a time) - or a B20 bottom end with B16 head.

wont be for awhile yet though

no reason to rush it and have to skimp on something
i have been picking up parts for my kit for about 2 years
because I'm like you
this car is nice but not the priority
so... do what you do

 

sell both, buy a ebay intake ($30) and profit $100+ ahah

Sell both (because they are very overpriced). Buy a used first generation AEM CAI or generic equivalent with a K&N filter.

they have the idea
you just don't get any real gains with them
but man it's your car and your wallet

ive heard that the 1st gen are better.

By "first generation", I meant not their v2. AEM's v2 was not a very big success...

 

If it were me, i would stick with the AEM.

When I mod my car for power reasons, I want it to look the part. Not look like a stock motor. If i wanted that i wouldnt bother with parts.

Stockish look on the outside. But under the hood, its gonna look good.
