Default 8.5:1 Compression/No turbo breakin in engine

I need some help Breaking in a 8.5:1 compression D16z6 engine without a turbo at the moment. On a budget at the time is why i cant get a turbo right away. The engine is built for turbo, but ECU, injectors, and fuel pressure reg are all stock for now. Would it hurt anything to break it in like this, or would i need to get it tuned?

its not so low that u cannot drive it,it will be fine, stock compression is not too much higher. u cannot damage a motor by running low compression. u damage a motor by high compression and leaning out. when u do install the turbo kit you will have to break it in on boost so u dont shock the motor. good luck with the build

Do you have a "Vitara" setup on Eagles/TT/etc? If so, it's actually 7.5ish to 1. Nevertheless, you'll be fine...and actually with what I can only imagine is being new rings, bearings, etc in the block is that it'll run better than before and be near or equal to what the car was before.

BTW, how are you breaking in your motor? I'll be in the same boat...breaking it in N/A while funds build back up for the turbo setup. 9.1:1 20 over SRPs on Eagles here on stock block.

I have weisco pistons .020 over, eagle rods, arp head studs, and the head was within specs so i put new valve seals. Breaking it in running it hard? Crank it n check for any leaks, check and set time, let it warm up. Then run it on a farm road rev it to to 4000 rpm then slow down and take again to 5500, then to 7500. When i do this iam not going to dump my clutch at any time. I have heard this preloads your rings and lets them set like they should.
