Default power steering?

hey, my buddy has a 2004 ep3 and he's looking into swaping a k20a2 in it. he was wondering what he is going to have to do being that he has eps and the a2 doesnt. we were told by a shop that if he gets the kpro he wont be able to have any steering at all. is this true or what? the shop also told us he can keep the steering if he goes with the reflash. anyone know anything or can help out.
thanks

you can swap in the k20a2, remove the PS pump, use your ep3 idler pulley, install the EPS. and that shop doesn't know what they are talking about.
