So, I purchased a 98-02 honda accord 4dr front bumper lip and the seller tells me that it should fit my accord v6. And now that I have the item, it doesn't appear to fit my car at all! We tried all that we could, forcing it to go, which will still doesn't fit, leaving about 1/2 inch left.. but when we're not forcing it, it has about 2 inches left on the bumper. I asked my local import shop if there is a difference between the types/models of the accords, and they said that the body is a lil' different, so there are some lips that will not fit a v6 accord.. so I've still been looking and can any one help me in finding this lip for my car?!! thanks very much!! oh yah, the vehicle that i've been working on/ driving is a 99 honda accord sedan (4dr) and it is a v6 model. i'm new to honda-tech so please, if ne comments or advice about the front lips, please let me know. thanks again!

Do you have a V6 coupe?

And I believe the bumper covers change between the coupe and the sedan. Which is probably your problem.

But you don't give any detail as to what car you drive.

 

oh hey ! yeah, thank u!! i have a 99 honda accord sedan, 4 dr. i can't seem to find ne lips for these and some ppl think that there isn't a difference between the 4cylinders and v6. obviously there is!

 

I know between the Coupe and the Sedan there was a different front bumper cover. Between the V6 and 4cyl however there may be a different between the two.

In the 94-97 year Accords the V6 model was approx 3 inches longer in the front so the hoods, fenders, and everything in the front was longer.

Did you buy just an OEM replacement lip?

 

hey thanks again for ur response. well, my bumper is just a regular bumper w/ no add ons. i don't know much about the bumpers and such, but i know for a fact that there is a difference between the models.. i purchased a type-R, abs plastic front lip.. just an add on to my bumper for the extra look because my car is lowered and a lil' add on would be nice, but now i'm frustrated cuz it doesn't fit and i can't find ne other lips for my type. and yes, it's a 4dr.

 

Ahhh yeah it's kinda hit or miss with the aftermarket lips, and you can probably expect it not to fit 100% so you probably did buy the right lip for your car, BUT it just is a bad model of it

 

darn it! well thanks for answering my questions.. lol.. so even forcing it, it still won't fit, so either sell the lip or just shave off the ends of both sides so that instead of it hugging onto the bumper, it will be about 1/2 inch left on each side w/ bolts.. lol.. do u think that would look good??
