Default cam cover d16z6 d16y8 same?

Hey guys I have a z6 blocked mated to a y8 head but i am using the d16z6 distributor, cam, adjustable cam gear and the d16z6 cam timing cover. I cant find the p2p cam cover so i used the d16z6 cam cover to find tdc for the cam. So far the car drives ok but seems to be lacking topend. Is there another way to check if the cam as at tdc without the cam cover? Are the d16z6 and d16y8 cam cover the same? Thanks in advance.

They are different, the cam timing on the Y8 is not the same as the Z6 IIRC.

I believe the two lines on the gear line up with the top of the head. TDC will be up top on the gear.

Well I looked up the honda parts catalog and both engine timing belt back covers are the same part number. I did time the engine correctly I probably just need a retune.
