Default Is my water pump bad?

I have had overheating issues for months on my 99 EM1. I replaced my busted overflow tank, replaced the thermostat, then it still overheated so I removed the thermostat. I also replaced the radiator cap. I am still running it without a thermostat and it seems to still run hot at red lights and drive throughs. Places where i have to stop it will overheat. Te fan is working fine also. I can open the cap and the water isnt moving. If i rev the engine up to about 3k rpm i can see it flowing water. Im thinking my problem is that its just not flowing enough at low RPM's.

So my question is: If your car is idling and you open your radiator cap, can you see the water moving without revving it up? I cant. Is that bad, or normal. Thanks for the help

you probly have air bubles in there. open the bleeder skrew and turn the car on and turn the heater on so you can cycle the air bubles all the way out

ok, ill do that. I thought I could still bleed it by running it with the cap off and the heater on. Is your method more effective. Thanks

my em1 dont have a bleeder screw.
i have to open the radiator cap, put a funel and run the engine with the heater on. when you done. make sure your lower radiator hose is warm. this will tell you if your thermostat opened.

I got no thermostat in though. It should be flowing freely and its not. I was just wondering if it normally would be a noticeably flow in the radiator at idle?
