What are my options
I have a 92 4WS with the H23. I bought this car last year and love it. The car is near mint. Only problem is it has 290,000 on it and it burns a **** ton of oil. It's bone stock and thats the way I'd like it to stay. I'm looking to get a new motor, possibly trans(bad synchros 3rd and 5th). As this is my only car I really don't have the time to tear apart the motor and rebuild and what it would cost in the end I think I'd be better off buying one. Looking on password etc all I see are H22s.
Anyone know a spot to buy a H23?
How involved is an H22 swap? Just wiring (if not prewired) and an ecu? What else is needed.
I would rather just stick a H23 in there if I can find one but I'm not against the H22 swap just as long as its something I can knock out in a day cause its my only set of wheels.
Again I'm not looking for performance just need a car that doesnt drink oil.
TIA

Well the H23 you have now sounds like its had it.
There wouldnt be that much more work in swapping a h22 in there. All you need to do really is new ECU and Wire Vtec. Easy, but if youve never done it before, its not as easy as some may lead you to believe.
H23s arent as high in demand as h22s are, so thats why they are harder to find.
Your best bet is to do the h22 swap from hmotorsonline.com they have the best rep on the net for selling you a good quailty motor and then actually standing behind their product afterwards and replacing stuff that breaks.
