Get a good used Zex nitrous kit (75 shot), get it installed and tuned. There's some cheap fun for ya.

get your self a dc 4-1 header and a straihgt pipe, catback exhaust and cold air intake. that should put you right around 1300 bux maybe a little more depending onwhat brands of exhaust you get and header and cold air intake. with all that said and done you should seen a hp increase to the wheels of about 15-20 maybe a litle bit more then that. but it will be a noticable difference for sure.

danggggggggg 1300 bucks for a full exhaust and an intake....go the custom route, its alot cheaper, unless you just want the name slapped on there

save a little more and go F/I. You'll make a lot more power, and not sound like garbage from a high-flow exhaust

After i got my GSR at 17, i was in this same boat. I had a little money to spend and wanted to get something cool for my car. After reading and researching, i decided to save my money and one day turbo my car. I saved a little over $3k and built my first turbo setup. It was the best decision i ever made with it. Rather than being one of the typical 19 year old kids with a CAI, header and cat-back, i had a 275whp turbo GSR. I suggest researching turbo setups and being patient...it WILL pay off

yea man i would say save money and boost cause its a b16 there not as powerfull as people think. its all in the gearing and the only way to make power is boost i say save up and buy a good kit or custom its up to your. but a boosted car should last pretty good with a good tune, not to much boost and not beating it everyday.
