if my radio and a/c is on, when i rev past 5000rpm the battery light blinks on and off. if my headlight is on and my defoster it does the same. the only way the light doesn't come on is when all the electrical equipment is off. what is wrong with my car? is it the altenator?

Here's a neat little way to check if your alternator is going bad.. While driving at night or with the driving lights on shooting at a wall... Press and hold the window switch either open or close your window.. You'll notice that the beam of light dims a little.. But here's what you check.. If you beam of light starts to brighten back up after you let go of the window switch, your alternator is fine. But if the light doesn't brighten back up and you try again and it dims more or stays the same.. Your alternator is starting to go bad.. Just a little trick I learned from a great mechanic.. If its mostly above 5k, and under a load, it could be as simple as a loose belt.
