ok i am thing about buying a 4 door accord for my next little project. But i like the 4th generation and 5th generation not sure of the chassi codes.sorry. But i just wanna know whateveryone thinks about the two, the pros and cons of both, parts avalabilty and so on. ill be dropping an h22 in either one of them. so any help and comments would be greatly appreciated.

i have had a 95 civic h22 swapped

Almost all the parts on the 5th and 4th gen accords are interchangeable so theres no problem there and the H22 will for sure line right up in the 4th gen accord not too sure about the 5th gen though!

4th gen accord - chassis code CB
5th gen accord - chassis code CD

Both work nicely with an H22 swap
More parts are available for 94-97 than the old ones but both have tons of aftermarket support.
I would go by mileage and condition and worry less about the year.
Keep an eye out for rear quarter rust while shopping around as these cars are known for problems in that area.

Any other questions?

Well if im correct then the 4th gen accord is the 94-97 which is an F22 but now that i think about it im pretty sure that the 5th generation in the 94-97 either way those years are F22's not so sure that the newer ones come with H22's but again i could be wrong...

5th gens are 94-97 and no the h22's are in none of the accords (other then the accord SIR and the accord euros-r) h22's were in the preludes, 4th and 5th gens have the f22's as well as i believe the 6th gens.. not to familar with 6th gens

6th gens-f23's

I've owned them all lol. The advantage of going older is that you can more easily find a legal engine (well that depends on where you live) as states such as cali require the engine to be the same year or newer than the car. So if you had a 97 accord, you could only get an h22 from a 97-01 prelude. That's in cali atleast.
