Which radiator?
I know this seems rather trivial but which would you guys rather go with?
Budget: $150~$180 after shipping and taxes.
A) A JVTR radiator
B) A Mishimoto
This is a track only car, I rather keep it cheap since it's sitting up front and can take a beating from rocks.
I've read good things about the Mishi's. The JVTR looks of similar construction. What do you guys think?
TIA

Do those hold more fluid than the stock ones? Being 13 3/4" x 27 1/2" x 1"?
Should the stock fan be replaced w/ the purchase of a new radiator? I was hoping to use the stock fan and save some money.

It is still a lot thicker then the OE radiators. About the fan, you will probably find it hard to run the OEM fan with a thicker radiator. It is freaking HUGE.
Plus all of us that run it, didn't have an OE fan, or they just wouldn't fit.
I saw no noticeable difference in temps, as compared to my KOYO radiator that ran previously.

In that case the Visteon is actually cheaper than the Mishimoto shipped with a 12" fan.

Good stuff.
How long have you been running this one?
Do they fit all Honda radiator caps?
Hey thanks for the help btw!

+1 for the C&R/Visteon unit, I'm using that in my car as well. Mine came with a cap, but it was the incorrect pressure. I think I had to buy one, as the stock one didn't fit. I might be remembering that wrong though, that was kind of a blur getting all that crap back together eight months ago.
I've been rocking a Mishimoto full-size dual core radiator in my 94 GSR for almost 2 years. I got it back when they first came out and were $89!
I've just done 1 track day, a few autocrosses, and quite a few nonstop 12-16 hour roadtrips, but it's held up perfectly fine and I've never seen the water temp gauge move past normal cruising temp. It came with a radiator cap, also. It is thick enough that I had to remove the left-side/AC fan to clear my header (Comptech 4-2-1).

2 or 3 race weekends. I think it is only 2 though as i wrecked the car at the last race of the season, and we have had two races this year.
I don't know, my previous radiator was a koyo and some one took the cap off of it, so i don't even know if that one would fit.
Before summer comes i am going to swap out the cap though, i have been running the one they give you with no issues.

Get some ⅛" hardware cloth from Lowe's or OSH and mount it to the core support in front of the radiator. That'll keep most of the debris from hitting whatever radiator you end up getting.

Ok, thanks for tip!
I think Visteon it is. I contacted the vendor about the radiator caps to clear things up.
I was looking for a two row but being a performance radiator as it is I think it should suite me fine for what I want to do and that's just track the car with reliability and keep it as cool as possible on those very hot summer days here in cali.

Also if you fabricaqte some simple ducting , it improves the radiators performance by a HUGE amount. I have made a mold and created fiberglass ducting for my 95 civic and a 91 CRX. I cant begin to tell you how much this has helped. I made a post about this awhile back but never posted the pics. I will see if i can find some pics. Basically it ensures any air entering the front goes through the radiator.
If you look at how the radiators sit stock you will see that air can go around the radiator pretty easily. Then high pressure builds up behind the radiator and there is little motivation for the air to go through the rad
Bolth cars run B series motors in H2. I have run the civic at Buttonwillow on a 104 degree day with no problems and the car ran below 190!! again I will try to get a pic up.

Running an Integra Mishi with a 12 inch fan in my EG.
I paid 150 including cap. no issues with it heating up at all.
What i do need is to construct a duct like Juan has.... thats pretty neat!

I ended up going with the Visteon. Quality piece for sure. I've since sold my project car though (along with the radiator) I'm now running a fluidyne on my daily. That trick Juan has fabricated is a great idea though, I'm sure it helps a ton. The thicker radiators already help keep the car cool by a lot and that ducting would just improve the performace even more.
Full radiator is your best bet. Most of the people that have the half end up with temp issues on hot days. I have the full koyo radiator without a fan and haven't had an issue with it. But it is rather expensive. My brother has a stock integra full and has no issues either.

for the OP, my Koyo didn't come with a rad cap so i had to go out and buy one. The OEM Honda cap didn't fit (from my EG rad), as the Koyo uses the bigger cap..'Type F?' or something?
