Default Shop quote to install GReddy turbo kit SI

Hello everyone, my first post here, been following along and using the search function like a good n00b. I'm a transplant from acura-cl.com

Anyway. After reading countless debates over Supercharger or Turbo for FI, I already knew I wanted to go turbo.

Lots of questions on stock internals and all that from what Iam reading it seems like it will hold up great. I thought about putting this post in the FI forum but thought I would ask here first.

I read $500 or so for someone to help out in Socal... I have not gotten a shop quote for install and tune, can someone give a good ball park figure please? People keep mentioning additional maintainance for a turbo'd vehicle what does that include? I'm sure the list could get extensive, so what are the basics.

My only experience with installs has been the tinkering I did on the old '99 4cyl Acura CL. Tein SS, was a bitch with some rusted bolts, AEM CAI easy, short shifter easy, new head unit medium not to good with sauder.

Thanks in advance folks...

BTW I've been the owner of a '07 Si since July '07

LOL, so far no one answered the question. Not cheap is fine. I am assuming if I get it professionally done I'm looking at 5k including parts and labor is that a fair assumption?

You should have gotten a mazda speed 3, it would have been the same if not a little more but you would have been boosted under warranty

I'd say a grand tops. S/C install was quoted at $600, I can't imagine the greddy kit would be too much more than that

Why did you need to solder wires for a head unit on a 1999 CL? The Acura harness to head unit harness would have made it so much easier (to install and remove). Just wondering.

You're right I didn't solder (thanks) that was on '96 mazda mx6 I did have a wire harness for the CL.
