alarm door actuator install help crutchfield 650i alarm
hey guys, this is my first time doing an alarm install by myself and I managed to install the alarm. It works and everything except for the door locks because I am at a complete lost of what to do and how to wire it up to the alarm. This is on a 1994 honda civic si with a crutchfield 650i alarm.
I had an old viper alarm in my car before but I took it out and I already have door actuators with 2 relays. The old alarm had only 2 wires going to each of the relay to the brain while this new alarm has actually six wires to the brain! I don't get where to wire them up. It's weird, I've included a picture of what my manual says where to hook up the wires onto the relay i'm guessing. Can someone please help me out with this? I wanna install this asap and don't wanna wait til thursday for my friend to install it for me haha.

I'm looking at this diagram from 12volt.com and i'm guessing i have to use the actuators/reverse polarity diagram?

You'll be getting rid of those 2 relays because they're built into the alarm. You need to tell us the wire color and description of those six wires from the alarm so we can tell you how to wire them.
thank you for responding. The wire color from the 6 wire harness is:
Violet/Black
Blue/Black
Brown/Black
Black/Red
Green/Violet
White/Red
Here's some pics to make things easier
pic of the harness
The last wire from the bottom that looks like a dark blue/black wire is actually a violet color, dunno why it came out dark blue in the pic haha.

from the manual, circled in red is what u will look at.

Thx!

Wire colors w/out the descriptions is useless. I should have known I'd be straining my eyes on some blurry pic.
Alright, here's how it works. NO means 87, COM means 30, NC means 87a. You just pretend like the relays are built into the alarm. 85 and 86 are controlled by the alarm.
Ground the brown/black and white/red to the chassis.
Violet/Black and Black/Red are connected to constant 12v. They can share this connection. Fuse this connection with a 10 or 15A inline fuse.
Now you'll have to determine which wire is lock and unlock on the actuators. This varies by the way they were installed, so just ignore the wire colors. Get a 9V battery, hold one wire to one end of it, and then tap the other wire to the other end. If it's your driver's door, you'll have to have the door closed for it to work. This will tell you that the positive of the battery when touched to one particular wire causes it to lock or unlock. Reverse the battery and it causes the opposite. Write down what does what.
Now branch the Blue/Black wire to each of the actuators unlock wires. Branch the Green/Violet wire to each of the actuators lock wires.
It's done just like a DEI alarm that has the 7 doorlock wires. Just the wire colors are different.

ok thx man this makes so much sense now. I was getting confused if I had to use the relay or not but this way makes alot of sense. I'll get started on this when i get out of class tonight and thx again!
Oh hey man, wait. fcm caught something and pointed it out to me. You're going to need to ground the two wires I said you don't need. I'll fix the previous post.

dang it still doesn't work. I followed what you said and I found the lock wires and unlock wires on the actuator. I connected the wires to the corresponding wires like you said and when I arm the alarm nothin happens with teh doors so maybe I thought i got the wires wrong so I switched the wires from the actuator but same thing happens, nothing happens.
At this poing I probe the output actuator wire and it gets power when i arm it and unarm it but this is the part i dont get now. I connect one wire from the harness to the actuator plug and leave the other plug unconnected, instead I connect a wire from the other actuator plug and ground it and when I arm it, it locks. I do the same thing to hte other plug and it unarms it. What do i do know?
seems like it has to be grounded or something. When I connect both harness plugs to the corresponding plug on the actuator nothing happens but when I only connect one harness plug to the actuator plug and ground the other actuator plug it works. Help again lol
Oh and i don't know if it helps but the actuators I have are a 2 wire plug.
