Hello, I am hoping that someone can give some step by steps to how to fix my bumper. I backed into something but there is not dent, just took the paint off. I was wondering like paint, wetsand, paint ect.. Please help. thanks!
Well you see all the cracks in the paint all around the main damaged area..you need to sand that out as well. The reason for that is if you were to paint over it, it'll just come right back. You can sand it down with 320 grids or wet sand it down with 400 grid wet sand paper. Use a sanding block to even out your sanding so once you get down to raw plastic everything will be smooth. If there's any gouges in the bumper fix it with a cream like bondo which is commonly know as "Icing" or "Glazed Putty". It's easy to use and easy to sand down. For the rest of the bumper you want to sand it with 400 grid dry or wet paper but you don't have to go down into the plastic. This is for paint to stick on to the bump well. Before painting you must primmer the damaged area, let it dry completely, then sand down evenly. Don't take the primmer off the area just smooth it out. Then your ready to paint.
Good Luck!!

Kind of right but some things could be better. First of all, just feather all of the damage as said above. I would use 400 "grit". No filler should be needed on your repair. use a grey pad on the rest of the bumper (you will blend the area and clear the entire bumper.) Shoot some adhesive prom. on the raw plastic, seal the area and spray your base/clear. It would probably be cheaper and easier to drop it off at a shop if you have no experience though.

I wouldn't use any "bonda" on that. Unless you have some deep scratches. If your fingernail cacthes on it, then you can fill it. If you scuff it, it should even out with the painted area.
