Default - - - - 95 Civic No Start... Fuel Pump? - - - -

its a 95 civic ls 5 speed. car wont start and has no check engine light. previously it ran shitty(no power, fumbling idle, bucking, hesitation) and does not throw a light. im thinkin the fuel pump is weak. i checked the reisistance of the pump and its 1 ohm. is that normal? also the amperage of it priming and engine cranking is like 4 amps. shouldnt it be more than that? any help is appreciated

You should also check whether you have spark at each of the plugs. This is done by pulling one of the plug wires, putting a good spark plug in the end of it, grounding the plug threads against a convenient metallic part of the engine, and having a buddy crank the engine. You should see a bright spark at the end of the plug. Repeat for the remaining three plug wires. If you lack spark at all the plugs, then you might have a bad coil or igniter unit. Another possibility is that your timing belt snapped.

Is the fuel filter possibly clogged?

Here's how to troubleshoot the fuel pump:

Does the engine start with starter fluid?

Is the fuel filter clogged?

Do you get battery voltage (12V) when you do the tests in the diagram?

the gauge i have is a vacuum/fuel pressure gauge and it only reads to 10 psi. it does make pressure but i noticed it didnt instantly rise, it bumped to like 4 then to the full 10 and since the gauge wont read higher so im not sure if its where it needs to be. i went to sears to buy a gauge that reads higher but they only kind they had were the quick connect kind for like fords n other domestics.

Maybe AutoZone or other parts stores will lend you a proper fuel pressure gauge. At AutoZone, you rent a tool by leaving a deposit, which is returned when you bring it back. In essence, the rental is free. It's worth looking into.

Having some pressure is no help you need enough for the fuel to atomize coming out of injectors. if you have to low of a presure it will come out in a streem like ****.

i know that, as you can see in my earlier post i tried to get a gauge that read higher but they didnt have it. my point was that it makes 'some' pressure so its not dead, im just thinkin its weak n i wanna be sure.

An appropriate fuel pressure gauge should answer your question.
