Default Ignition timing question for 1995 Del Sol Vtec SOHC

I'm new here, I have a 1995 Del Sol Vtec SOHC that I'm finishing maintenance on. After I replaced my distributor cap and rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, oil filter, pcv, etc., I realized now I'm going to have to adjust the timing. So, I was looking around for the service connector plug to put the jumper on and I found a BLUE connector with a black and a brown wire in it. After reading : https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1901557 , I noticed that my year is specifically supposed to have a grey connector with a brown and a green/white wire.

So after i jumpered the blue connector with the brown and black wires, my SRS light started flashing... is that the right connector? Ive torn this car apart and thats the only one I can find that half resembles what I've been told to look for.

Thanks

On the 95's it is behind the passengers kick panel. Usually has a rubber cover on it.

Try to feel around the top of the panel. You might be able to get to it without removing the panel itself.

This is what i found behind the kicker panel. Inside the green rubber casing was 2 blue harnesses. The one that is hanging out is the one that I was talking about with the brown and black wire that made the SRS light flash when I jumpered it. That is the ONLY harness that is behind the kicker panel or anywhere below the passenger side dash for that matter.

that is where it should be. Was there another connector in it? or by it? Try the other connector.

the other connector in the green container has 3 wires (blue, black/red, white/red) in it and there is no other harness anywhere in the passenger side. Seeing as how my harness is blue, is this a 1996 del sol that neither myself or honda knew it was or is something else wrong here? Is the SRS light supposed to be flashing when you are changing the ignition timing?

I've done this many times on my miata but this del sol is a completely different process.

better yet, is there any other way to adjust the timing then to be looking for this harness, because I cannot find it.

Here is what my emissions manual says:

With the SCS service connector connected to service check connector, located behind the glovebox.

This is a new one for me, I haven't done this yet so I am not going to be anymore help. Sorry.

If this does help please let me know.

lol this forum needs to change their information.. i went to honda and i had the right harness .. the 1995 civic del sol has a blue harness.. not grey.. and it is the black and brown wires..

the srs flashing light was from an SRS check engine code that i have to check out.

finally its timed.
