checking tps
no cel. I'm not sure if i need to adjust it not. That's what i need to find out. I'm thinking it maybe working, so it's not throwing a cel, but it's not working correctly and maybe going bad.
have your car off
get a volt meter
connect the positive side to the power wire on the plug
ground side to any ground
and have someone step on the gas pedal, or turn the throttle valve by hand
the volts should read .27 volts or so at idle/gas pedal not pushed
and 4.5 volts with the gas pedal all the way down
if those numbers dont come up..then it may be defective

if your tps isnt working correctly you will know for sure.. first of all your idle will increase within a few seconds after you start the car and probably wont go down even after driving it.. this is happening to me right now. Im tryin to find a way to fix it. I heard you have to adjust the tps volts to .45v 0%. I dont know how to do that but I think you need some kind of electronic device. and also you need to adjust the throttle screw which can change your idle.. but im trying to figure this out too because my car is idling pretty high even after warm up.. and the error code is 7

yea, mine was having some major problems, but don't use that throttle screw as a fix. that's not what it's there for and you won't fix the problem by doing that, if you know it is your tps, go get a new tps for it then.

Well I fixed it.. I took the TPS from my single cam and put it in.. works like a charm :] and the idle is normal now around 1,500 and below..
