It is the 2nd year the Type R was made in the United States, and it was offered in the ever-so-popular Championship White color only.

the 98 white ITR will always be the best...best color ever....its not just a color...its a story of honda racing written in paint on metal...*sniff* *a single tear of mountain dew falls from tsunami_zc's eye*

And this merits mention here wrt a 98 ITR ... because?
Because you guys were talking about color... CMY is like 1 of 250 or something low like that. CW is in the 1000s... No reason really.

I think you have Honda racing colors confused with Red... They began racing motorcycles before cars and their team color was Red just like it is today. Their auto racing might be white, but mst people will associate Honda with HRR or Honda Racing Red.

So CW would be the history of Honda Auto Racing...

Was there ever even a CW car before the 96 R? Or was this color created or used for the first time in 96? Was it on their F1 cars or something?

Well... it's special, in the sense that EVERY ITR is special. But unfortunately, it was only available in white, so it looks like white GS-Rs and other white Integras.

Now, the Phoenix Yellow ITR from 2000 and 2001 are REALLY special, because they don't look like other (non-R) Integras.

CW type R's can never be mistaking with a white gs-r wingless or not.

Oh come on, of course they can! If you see a white Integra going the other way on the highway, it's easy to mistake either one for the other, unless you get a good look at the rear spoiler.
