ef k20z1 build help........
unless im retarted i have a k20z1 motor and trans and im using the efk1 mount kit and for some reason i keep reading about how this tranny wont work something is different than the k20a can anyone explain this in detail is the mount kit different in some way am i just high..... i got the motor in i had to change the weld in mounts position by about a half inch but everything seems to be perfect i havent got the axles in yet but it looks like there is room for everything i have pics if anyone is interested also why does it seem like people are turning away from this swap it seems like nobody is using this motor for some reason sorry about my periods i know they arent there
post up some pics, why did you have to change the mount positions, isnt it lined up with the two holes from the stock battery tray, i thought the kit was designed like that on purpose.
are you saying you only bolted up the longblock? if you already have the tranny bolted in then id say you're good to go......
right?
for the Z1 AFAIK it is actually a bit stronger then the regular A2, id say the reason people don't swap it as often is because most people who have the z1 motor in their RSX's keep it and upgrade it, rather then swap it out.
so you'd need to find a wrecked one to pull the motor from or something along those lines, which is far less common. imho.

well i got it in with the bolts holding the mount but it pushed into my headlight frame really hard almost enough to where trimming it would not have worked and the motor physically looked crooked when you looked at the car from the side i un bolted the mount while the motor was in i shoved the motor back a half inch marked the mount tacked it in and reinstalled the motor looks like it fits alot better than the way hasport designed it im not trying to say it wouldnt have worked but it didnt look straight i helped make some eg mounts for one of the first k swaps in the nation so i have some experiece anyway some people are saying the trans mount is different everything is coming together nicely i will post some pics when i get home also i was wondering is this possibly the first z1 swap in an ef i have searched for hours on end

From what i read the z1 transmission and engine uses a multiplex system. That requires u to use the a2 engine harnes and ecu or an adaptor harness from hondadata for the ecu. As for the mounting points there the same as the a2. If this dont help go to k20.org.
