Default Started Sound? is this normal?

Does a starter sounds constantly the same? like ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta
untill the engine starts?


Mine sounds like ta ta ta tn ta ta ta tn ta ta ta tn

lol I cant really describe it.

Depends, my car doesent start on the first try, so i turn the key first time and its.

cha cha cha cha cha cha cha

then 2nd try its chachachachachachachachacha, its much faster.

so if it has low compression on 1 piston the starter will sound different than normal?

maybe a little faster with less stress on it, but probably not noticable.
I mean if it turns the engine over who cares?
Or what are you trying to get at?

dont know,,,, I just did a b16A swap and im waiting for my ecu and since im bored I cranked the engine to hear it...

compression was around 195-210-225-225

I guess I was just curious.

Usally 15 psi within each cylinder is good. Say like.

215 200 210 215 that would be good.

I would be a little worried about cylinders 3 and 4 on yours.
Or redo the test and crank until the gauge stops moving.

yeah, well those where on a cold engine. I will try to clean up the carbon buildup on the pistons and then do a valve adjustment to see from there....
